Calculating Glitters

Estimating Volume- Basic Container Shapes

Need to fill a space with glitter? This series of videos will help you figure out how much glitter you need to do it.

In these videos we use google calculators a lot. We cover three major shapes, but there are plenty more calculators available to you. If you have an odd shape you might be able to find a calculator out there for it. If not, see if you can break it down into 2 or more shapes and add the calculations together. For example a wine bottle- basically a cylinder with a narrow cone sitting on top. It is easy to find both the cylinder and the cone calculator on google. Just add the two together and you have you bottles volume.  Using water to measure volume is also really handy for smaller items! See the water trick link below.

Search notes. When using the search feature it is best to skip using the word glitter. For example type in FLOOR instead of Glitter Floor.
