Glitter Mural

Glitter Mural

In this video Diza takes you through her process of doing a really dynamic glitter mural.

Comments:

If you are challenged in your drawing skills, you can use an image that someone else has drawn. Rather than drawing it out yourself, you can use an overhead projector to take the image and put it up on the wall for you. These are not as expensive as you might think and very handy for blowing up images. The largest image I projected was over 20 feet wide and the smallest was a couple of feet. Pretty handy to have if you like the idea of giving murals a whirl.

If you do not feel that painting is your strong suit (not everyone has Diza's talent in this regard), try designs that are bold and without shading. Most people can paint a single color between lines since they were a kid. You might not get the gorgeous depth like the face in this mural, but you can make up for it with a really dynamic bold design.

She goes over the materials in the video quite well. She used all Polyester glitters for this mural and the glitter gun (we rent and sell these). The only process not shown was the final seal coat which was done with Benjamin Moore Stays Clear. This door opens to the outside of the studio so rain will sometimes hit it briefly. This sealer is waterproof will resist rain and is washable too.
