Glitter Walls Using Benjamin Moore Stays Clear- Gloss
In this video we show you how to do total coverage on a heavy textured wall.
Comments:
Recommended glazing medium is Benjamin Moore Stays Clear Gloss/High Gloss. It makes the walls sparkle and it is completely washable when dry! Easy cleanup and it is so thick that the glitter does not settle in the bucket very fast (less stirring). You have to buy it at a Benjamin Moore store but I did find one online retailer that offered it. WorldPaints.com Expensive and TOTALLY worth it in time-saving, one coat application, no need to seal, and so much more. It can even be used in a bathroom where it is damp a lot.
Be sure to use a really soft brush and keep it even and pretty thick BUT if you go too thick, it can sag so we recommend testing to trying until you get used to the medium and get it just right.
We recommend painting the wall the same color as the glitter. This makes it a TON easier on you when you glitter. Even with total coverage you can sometimes see a hint of the wall behind. When it is the same color your eye really does not see the gaps.
Why did we mix Silver Sparkle Metallic and Centauri Silver Holographic together? Sometimes a Holographic wall can be a bit overwhelming in a room. To bring it down a bit, we mixed in the plain silver. We went about 4 to 1 with Silver Sparkle being the 4 parts. We did however bump up the flake size on the holographic silver so it still pops and shines like crazy. If you are on a budget this is a great way to go. Holographic glitter is more expensive then the plain metallic so by using less Holographic you can save a lot of money.
We rent or sell Glitter Guns on BulkGlitters.com We also have several tutorials on how to use them. Here is one that should help you: Glitter Gun Demo
Not sure on coverage? We have videos on that too. Here is one that may help you at least get an estimate together: Estimating Polyester Glitter Coverage
