Glitter Walls- Five Sealing Options Demo
Thinking about doing a glitter wall? Do it! If you see a potential for excessive flaking- you may want to seal it a bit. This video takes you through five options that you might consider.
Comments:
Depending on how you apply your glitter, you may not need to seal it. For example if you do the Mod Podge technique or apply glitter with a Glazing Medium, the chances are you do not need to seal. Whenever you can avoid sealing- do! Just about any sealer you use is going to knock the sparkle down. Less is more with sealing. However, if you have a lot of standing flake or poor adhesion and you need to seal, one of the sealers in this video should do the trick. One item not mentioned in the video (but mentioned above) is Glazing Medium. We love this stuff and it is easily applied just like it was shown for Polycrylic and the Polyurethane in the video (by soft brush).
Note: Any time you use a water-based sealer, you have the potential to run into bleeding with Craft Glitter. Be sure to test before diving in. Very few Polyester Glitters will bleed. Craft Glitter has no UV protection, so if your wall has sun exposure, do not use Craft- use Poly.
