An Art Car Is Born!
In this project we take an old Honda with a failing clear coat on its roof and give it a glittered finish. The glitter applied was a beautiful mix of polyester glitters. In addition to Metallic glitters, a touch of Iridescent and Holographic glitter was mixed in. The result was dramatic and beautiful!

Project Comments:
If you are not comfortable with spraying and would prefer to brush your sealer on, you can. The results will not be as professional, but this is an art car after all! When using Solvent Urethane, be sure to watch the weather. Both humidity and temperature play a big part in not only dry time, but the way it behaves and sprays. If this is your first time using it, be sure to run tests!
The top of this car had some spots where it went down to the base metal. If we did this project again, we would have hit the roof with silver car paint (spray can quality would be fine). That would have evened out the roof color and would have made the glitter application step go faster. We did not do that, and we needed to go back to those darker areas and make sure the coverage was 100%. It worked out fine, but it took more time and attention.

Use polyester glitters only. The ones you want to use need to have UV inhibitors. The glitters in our "floor" sections are all OK for cars as well.

Every Clear by Sculpt Nouveau is our preferred sealer. It is easy to work with for intermediate level artists. The other option is to go "total pro" with an official car clearcoat (more expensive, must be sprayed, and requires more skill to use)
