I use glitter for almost all of my makeup looks. If I could incorporate glitter into the look I will. I admire how it gives a sense of beauty, flare, and even sexiness to anyone’s eyes. Not too long ago, I did I look with some pink, fuchsia tones and gold. I reached for the Golden Tiara glitter and fell in love with my shot. I’ve never done a picture where I show my lid and this glitter gave me the confidence to allow myself to show off my work. It felt so perfect to me! I give lots of thanks to glitter as it gave me the power and self-esteem to see how good my work really is. Also, gave me a new step into my beauty career.

Maria shares her spa transformation...I started with a treatment room that needed to be updated and brightened up. My clients have always loved the lights and fabric on the ceiling, so I needed to get rid of those (too much dust, not enough light) and do something else... Glitter! Of course. For the first coat, I used 1 part Glitter to 2 parts Mod Podge with a foam roller. Not great. For the next, I did the same, thinking it would really cover. Again, not great, but better. For the third coat, I did equal parts Mod Podge and Glitter, and just spread it on with my heavily gloved hands in circular patterns. Finally - a nice finish and very sparkly. I also re-painted 3 large pieces of furniture in the room and used the same glitter mix on the hardware. Had some glitter paste supplies left, so I did a wall, too. My glitter was a mix of fine pink, chunky gold, and holographic silver. On Instagram, I'm @SpaByMaria Thank you! I found a grandfather clock casing on sidewalk in someone's trash and had a vision,I had never glittered before ever other that in elementary school...I used elmers glue and regular craft glitter...after I finished this clock casing I discovered fine glitter and I've been a glitter junkie ever since, ive tried to kick my glitter habit but finding meetings and a sponsor have been impossible so I just go day by day.... To feed my glitter habit and stay well.... Oh yeah I also create Horror Dolls -Heather Collier A couple of years ago I glitterized the front of my house. I do a big Christmas display where I have used glitter on my dioramas, candy cane fence, entry way and a 4x8 foot sleigh. This year I will glitterize the driveway side of my house. It is 40x8 feet. I use 4x8 foot pieces of 1/2 inch plywood. When I did the front of the house I broke it down into three sections. For the new project, the design will attach and go together similar to the front, but i'm kind of treating each panel as it's own art piece, otherwise it is a little overwhelming. First I see a design and colors, I then lay out 2 or 3 pieces of plywood, just to put things right in my mind. I see stuff then draw it out, more of a guide than an absolute. changes come as I go along. I then see colors and paint the design with colors of the glitter I will use. also, I add dimension. Using a handheld jigsaw I cut out a design at an angle usually. I sometimes cut within these cutout pieces. once I have a full piece that is painted, it is ready for glitterization. I do one color at a time, usually starting with the darkest. All I do is paint on Elmer's glue along the design of chosen color. I do sections at a time, not too thick or too thin. I then pour on the glitter, then cover it with newspaper and smush it down with a rolling object, like a can of spray paint. Then begins a new section. Once the chosen color is covered I dump the extra glitter on newspaper that have on the floor. It gets more challenging as i go because the piece gets heavier. I move onto another color, usually saving the negative space for last. The piece stays flat until dry. |
