Pushing The Boundaries

Embedding A Design  In Epoxy (flush with floor)

Do you want to spice up your floor with an embedded design, but want to keep the floor level? You have some options available to you. The one covered in this video will take some extra elbow grease, but it will last as long as the rest of the floor and will not discolor over time. Take a peek...

Comments:

This technique is best for wood floors or where you have done at least a double pour of good quality (thick) floor epoxy. To get that flush look and feel, you need to dig in at least 1/8". In this video a design was drawn on the floor. Using a vinyl stencil on the floor is another option for a larger or more intricate design. It can also help with keeping the rest of the floor clean as you work the design. Just be sure to pull the vinyl up when the epoxy is still wet (so it does not attach to the floor permanently during the drying process).

Note: It is best to use the same epoxy for the embedded design as you used for the floor. It will have the same properties in it and will have good cohesion.

Search notes. When using the search feature it is best to skip using the word glitter. For example type in FLOOR instead of Glitter Floor.
