Naughty Flakes

Glitter Situation- Standing Flake

Thinking about doing a glitter wall? Go for it. Just be aware of an issue that can make your walls flake off and make them a bit difficult to seal. Looking for a more dramatic sparkle?  Standing flakes can be your friend!

Comments:

Standing flake happens more with larger flakes. It is rarely a desired thing with walls that you are going to live with. However, standing flake can be quite wonderful! It catches and throws light more dramatically than flakes laying flat. Experiment with it for stage sets, props, and for temporary installations and creations. Let it stand proud and avoid sealing to keep it extra sparkly!
Glitter Guns, Tossing, Throwing, Blowing, & Bouncing glitter are all ways to achieve standing flakes with large flakes (.062 and up). Trying to avoid it? Use smaller flakes or larger flakes and then go back over and pat them down.
