Glittered Ceiling Mural
This is another video in the Dog House Series. In this video our very talented Diza creates a glittered mural on the slanted ceiling of the dog house. She takes you through all steps and shows technique and tips. We hope it inspires you to do a glittered mural of your own!
Comments:
This mural is obviously a play on the center panel of the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo. And what fun it is! Diza used acrylic paint and chose to use Mod Podge and the blow method for the most part. She demonstrates this in the video for you along with an alternate method. The one thing you would not want to do is mix the glitter in with the acrylic paint. If you were to try this, you would find your paint would be lumpy, not spread well, and the glitter would barely sparkle (if at all). Glitter My World! brand glitter should never be mixed into pigmented paints. She used a wide variety of colors all from the Polyester Collection, in the ultra fine flake size.
Note: This mural was not sealed. It is a ceiling and even though it is low, it will not be touched and has shown no tendency to flake. If you were concerned with flaking (but wanted to maintain maximum sparkle) you could seal it lightly with a light spray coat of Glitter Blast or a light coat of glaze medium (gloss).
