I Brake For Glitter

Glittering A Car Bumper

This is part of the Car Series of videos. In this video we show you a technique on how to glitter a semi flexible rubber car bumper.

Skill level: Advanced

Comments:

In this video we chose to go with a solvent based urethane resin. This material is less picky than a traditional car clearcoat by far. It still gives you a nice flexible finish with a high gloss shine. However, it is more prone to heavy "orangepeel" than you get with clearcoats. If you like the super smooth look and feel, then stick with a clearcoat. Glitter sprays fine in both mediums so no worries there. We wanted a heavy orange peel on the bumper to offset the super smooth finish on the car. The look works on this car really well.
