Not All Is Wonderful

Putting Glitter Into Paint

Sorry friends- Our glitter does not mix well into opaque latex paint.

Comments:

As you now know, we do not recommend mixing glitter into paint. You may see a tiny sparkle if you do but for the most part you just get lumpy paint. As an alternative we recommend painting your wall whatever color you like. Then let it dry thoroughly. When dry you can take a clear glaze and mix glitter into it. You can then brush it on over the paint for a lovely accent coverage. Practice on cardboard or wood until you feel like you can get a uniform look with your technique.

Polyester glitter works best if you choose to do accent coverage using clear glaze. It does not bleed as much as craft glitters (not all craft glitter colors will bleed). We also recommend using poly glitters so it will not fade over time.

This clear glaze material will mix with most polyester glitters (some craft glitters- some colors bleed). Works fine over most dry painted walls. Brush on with a soft big brush for a pretty accent coat.
Search notes. When using the search feature it is best to skip using the word glitter. For example type in FLOOR instead of Glitter Floor.
